H2CE organised an online demonstration and stakeholder-testing workshop on 8 October 2025.
The session presented two strategic planning tools developed and tested within the project:
- the GIS Platform applied in the Veneto Region and Styria; and
- the Energy Cells Model tested in Lübben.
GIS Platform
The GIS approach supported spatial analysis of:
- potential hydrogen demand;
- existing energy infrastructure;
- renewable-energy resources;
- hydrogen production and distribution;
- economic and environmental information; and
- possible regional development scenarios.
Unioncamere del Veneto and the Energy Agency Styria presented the regional applications.
Energy Cells Model
The Lübben model supported the design and assessment of integrated, decentralised energy systems.
It examined how renewable-energy sources, storage and different sectors could be connected, with a focus on climate neutrality and sector coupling. Stadt- und Überlandwerke Lübben presented the tool and its regional use.
Stakeholder testing
Participants assessed:
- relevance to their regional planning needs;
- clarity and usability;
- applicability in different territorial contexts;
- transferability to other regions; and
- areas requiring further refinement.
Interactive feedback helped the partnership evaluate how external users understood and applied the tools.
Practical value
The workshop connected technical development with user experience. It demonstrated that transferable planning tools needed not only sound analytical methods but also clear interfaces, transparent assumptions and flexibility for different regional data environments.
The testing contributed to the final assessment of the tools and their presentation through the H2CE Collaboration Platform.
