GRETA Final Conference held in Bologna

As the GRETA project is about to conclude, project partners met in Bologna to present the main achievements of the past three years of cooperation. The main focus was placed on innovative solutions adopted in GRETA to improve reginal freight transport in funcional urban areas. Indeed a dedicated session to pilot results and next steps provided several insights on the tested solutions related to curbside management, micro-hubs and green vehicles for the last mile delivery applied in Budapest, Maribor, Poznan, Reggio Emilia and Verona. Participants highlighted the imporance of the engagement and constant collaboration with local authorities, logistic operators and other stakeholders. They also discussed upon future opportunities to transfer the knowledge and scale up the tested solutions.

This concerned also possible pathways to integrate pilots’ into existing planning tools and governance frameworks both at the local and regional level.

The last session was focused on capacity building for smarter urban logistics aiming at enhancing skills, knowledge and practical tools to support the transition towards more efficient and sustainable urban freight systems.

GRETA partners presented the training courses developed with the intention of transferring the acquired knowledge as well as the jointly developed capacity building material for CE policy makers working in the Functional Urban Areas. Additional perspectives were provided by EIT Urban Mobility, URBANE project funded under Horizon Europe Programme and HAllo Project funded by the EIT Urban Mobility.

The Conference was organised in the framework of the Urban Logistics and Mobility Conference, gathering numerous stakeholders interested in gaining further knowledge in the field.
