TU Wien represented by Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Takeru Shibayama arrived in Cesena, Italy, to attend the coordination meeting of the Geneva project, funded by Interreg Central Europe. This visit was a fantastic opportunity to introduce the unique territory of the SavioValley to TU Wien.
Together with the Lead Partner, the team from the Technical University of Vienna explored the entire SavioValley using public transport —highlighting the region’s mobility potential and challenges. During the journey, we had the chance to directly test and observe the ongoing efforts within the Nutshell@CE project and discuss potential future pilot actions for sustainable mobility.
Nutshell@CE aims to support small and medium-sized cities and rural areas in improving accessibility through smart, low-carbon mobility solutions. By actively involving local stakeholders and using practical, real-world mobility tests like this one, we are building evidence for meaningful and inclusive transport planning.
This visit strengthened cooperation between project partners, showcased the importance of integrated territorial approaches, and demonstrated how InterregCE projects can deliver real impact on the ground—starting with something as simple (and powerful) as a shared bus ride.
