Within the project, several pilot workshops were carried out together with carpentry apprentices. The collaboration combined Jugend am Werk’s expertise in vocational training with Happylab’s experience in digital fabrication and maker education.
During the workshops, apprentices explored technologies such as laser cutting, 3D printing, robotics, and programming while working on practical projects. By connecting traditional craftsmanship with digital tools, participants gained new perspectives on how emerging technologies can complement their existing skills.
The successful cooperation demonstrated the value of bringing together vocational education providers and innovation spaces to strengthen digital competences and prepare apprentices for the evolving world of work.
We would like to thank Jugend am Werk, the trainers, and all participating apprentices for their commitment and enthusiasm throughout the pilot activities.
