Between April and May 2026, the Digi-B-Well partners carried out three pilot testing events in Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia. These events allowed the consortium to test and reflect on the project’s developing toolkit in different organisational contexts, while also gathering practical feedback from participants representing the project’s main target groups.
The first pilot test took place on 20 April 2026 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. Companies and representatives from Germany, Hungary, and Slovenia participated in the event, which was hosted in the inspiring setting of the Julian Alps. The programme also included a field visit to a major steel factory, offering participants the opportunity to connect the topic of digital wellbeing with concrete workplace realities and industrial practice.
Following the pilot event, the Digi-B-Well consortium met on 21–22 April 2026 for a project meeting hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. The meeting provided an important opportunity to review the progress of the pilot activities, coordinate the remaining tasks of Period 4, and prepare for the next project steps.
The second pilot test was held on 11–12 May 2026 in Bologna, Italy, and focused on academic organisations. Hosted by the University of Bologna at Palazzo Malvezzi, the event brought together participants from Italian, Slovakian, and German universities. The pilot provided valuable insights into the specific needs, expectations, and working conditions of academic institutions when addressing digital wellbeing in the workplace. A city tour further enriched the exchange by offering space for informal dialogue and transnational connection among participants.
The third pilot test followed on 13–14 May 2026 in Opatija, Croatia, hosted by the County of Primorje-Gorski Kotar. This event focused on public authorities and included representatives from Poland, Croatia, and Slovakia. The pilot helped the consortium explore how public sector organisations can engage with the Digi-B-Well toolkit and reflect on digital wellbeing challenges in administrative and institutional contexts. As in Bologna, the programme also included a city tour, supporting the project’s aim of combining structured cooperation with meaningful transnational exchange.
By the end of May 2026, the consortium had reached another major milestone: four key deliverables were submitted on time, and the pilot testing phase was successfully fulfilled as a major project output. This achievement marks the conclusion of Project Period 4 and the completion of the second year of Digi-B-Well’s overall 36-month project timeline.
With Period 4 now concluded, Digi-B-Well enters Project Period 5. This next phase will focus on finalising Work Package 2, further developing and refining the project solution, and launching the next steps under Work Package 3. As the project moves into its final year, the consortium remains on track to conclude Digi-B-Well with a strong, practice-oriented digital wellbeing solution for organisations across Central Europe.
The successful completion of Period 4 reflects the commitment of all project partners, hosts, participants, and associated organisations involved in the pilot testing process. Their contributions have helped transform the project’s work from concept development into practical testing and will continue to shape the next stages of Digi-B-Well.
