The tool is aimed particularly at companies in the dairy, meat, and fresh produce sectors, and allows them to assess the main risks associated with adopting new packaging. The analysis takes into account economic, regulatory, environmental, social, and technical aspects that may influence the strategic decisions of SMEs. Through a simple, guided online questionnaire, companies can obtain a first personalised assessment of possible alternatives to their current packaging.
How it works
D4PACKtool is structured in two parts. The first phase comprises 18 technical questions aimed at identifying up to three alternative packaging solutions, each accompanied by a compatibility percentage based on the characteristics indicated by the company.
Once one of the proposed solutions is selected, the user proceeds to the second phase, consisting of 20 additional questions dedicated to an in-depth analysis of the risks associated with adopting the new packaging.
Results and use
At the end of the process, the system automatically generates a risk assessment report that incorporates up to three alternative solutions and provides personalised feedback and operational recommendations. The report also includes an evaluation of possible economic, regulatory, and organisational risks, along with an analysis of environmental and social impacts and the implications related to the efficiency and technical quality of the packaging.
Available in six languages (Italian, English, Polish, Hungarian, Slovenian, and Czech), the D4PACKtool is completely free of charge. It can be used multiple times, including for different products. By logging in with the same email address, users can view the history of completed questionnaires and resume any that are still in progress.
