The D4PACK project took centre stage at the “Packaging Under the Pressure of Change” conference, hosted at Země živitelka 2026, the leading annual trade fair for the agricultural and agri-food sector in the Czech Republic. The partnership was represented by Czech partner FFDI (Federation of the Food and Drink Industries of the Czech Republic).
The meeting was devoted to the changes currently underway in the packaging field, focusing on three areas: how the regulatory framework is evolving, the new laws reshaping the sector, and the practical experience the food industry has gained in adapting to this fast-changing context.
Within this framework, the speakers presented D4PACK and the tool developed over recent months through the joint work of the various parties involved in the project: the D4PACKtool, a resource designed to help food companies identify sustainable and alternative packaging solutions for their products.
Considerable attention was also given to the initiative’s strategic positioning: the speakers explained how D4PACK fits into the context of the National RIS3 Strategy and how it connects with support for innovation and the development of sustainable solutions.
The conference proved an important opportunity for dialogue and exchange. On the one hand, it introduced the project to a well-qualified audience; on the other, it opened a conversation among the different players in the supply chain — producers, processors, packaging suppliers and institutional representatives — who deal with the introduction of new regulations on a daily basis.
Opportunities for exchange like this one are essential to strengthen the agri-food supply chain and to bring different skills and experiences together, building shared answers to challenges that no single player can tackle alone.
