Are students gaining the skills that today’s labour market needs?

Date: 03.11.2026

The INNOSKILLS-CE project is moving forward with its analysis of vocational education in the partner regions. In Poland, Fundusz Regionu Wałbrzyskiego (FRW) has collected questionnaires from technical and vocational schools in Świdnica and is now analysing the results using the project’s common curriculum analysis template.

The questionnaires cover a wide range of vocational education programmes. At Technical School No. 6, part of the Mechanical Schools Complex in Świdnica, the analysis includes freight forwarding, mechanical engineering, automotive technology and mechatronics. At Vocational School No. 4, also part of the Mechanical Schools Complex, the focus is on motor vehicle mechanics and machine tool operation.

The Construction and Electrical Schools Complex in Świdnica has also contributed information covering electrical engineering, electronics, construction, programming and IT.

The analysis will help identify which technical and digital skills are already covered by school curricula, how vocational education responds to the expectations of local employers, and where additional training may be needed.

What comes next?

The findings from Polish schools will be compared with results collected by project partners in Italy and Hungary. Together with the ongoing analysis of SMEs’ skills needs, they will contribute to the development of a joint Training Strategy and future educational resources using Learning Management System (LMS) and AR/VR technologies. We would like to thank the participating schools for contributing to the research and supporting the development of vocational education that better reflects the realities of today’s workplace.
