The construction sector is facing increasing challenges related to sustainable resource use, waste reduction, digital transformation, and adaptation to new business models. For this reason, one of the key goals of the ReBuilt project is to develop educational modules that will help companies, public institutions, professionals, and educational organisations gain the knowledge and competencies necessary for a successful transition toward a more sustainable and digital future.

Workshops for Different Target Groups

The series of online workshops was specifically designed for four important target groups:

Industry & SMEs (10 September 2024)

This workshop was intended for directors, managers, research and development officers, technologists, and other business professionals. Participants discussed the critical competencies needed for implementing circular business models and digital work processes in the construction industry. Special focus was placed on developing educational modules for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as presenting Digital Product Passports in the construction sector.

Architects, Designers and Investors (11 September 2024)

This workshop brought together architects, designers, planners, and investors. Discussions focused on the role of digitalisation and circular approaches in architectural planning, design processes, and investment strategies. Project partners presented the conceptual framework for training programmes aimed at professionals who will play a crucial role in implementing sustainable solutions within the construction sector.

Government Officials and Public Servants (13 September 2024)

This workshop focused on engaging representatives of public administration and policymakers, who play an essential role in shaping regulations, policies, and supportive frameworks for sustainable development in the construction sector. Participants discussed the key knowledge and skills required for stronger collaboration between public authorities and construction stakeholders, as well as educational content that would support better understanding of digitalisation and circular economy principles.

Universities & Vocational Schools (19 September 2024)

This workshop was dedicated to deans, professors, lecturers, education development experts, and representatives of vocational schools. The focus was on designing educational modules for both university and vocational education levels that would equip future engineers, researchers, developers, and other professionals with the competencies needed for circular and digitalised construction.

Stakeholder Engagement as a Key to Success

All workshops were conducted in English and held online via MS Teams or Zoom. In addition to presenting the ReBuilt project and the conceptual design of the training modules, an important part of each session involved gathering feedback through questionnaires and open discussions with participants.

The primary objective of these activities was to involve external stakeholders as active contributors in the development of a new international education and training programme. Through collaboration between companies, architects, investors, public institutions, and educational organisations, the ReBuilt project aims to create practical and targeted learning content that responds to the real needs of the economy and society.

Looking Ahead

The transition toward circular and digitalised construction requires new knowledge, cross-sector cooperation, and innovative educational approaches. Through this series of workshops, the ReBuilt project has taken an important step toward shaping a shared European approach to capacity building, improving competitiveness in the construction sector, and promoting sustainable development across Central Europe.

By connecting professionals, institutions, and decision-makers from various sectors, ReBuilt is laying the foundation for a future generation of knowledge and competencies that will support a more efficient, sustainable, and digitally transformed construction industry.
