On 2 July 2025, OPTI-UP project partners carried out a site visit to the Grosuplje pilot area to explore the implementation of the change of the regime of operation of pilot line 72, now featuring both regular and DRT scheduled tripsas well as to showcase the “Zapeljivček” Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) service, operated in the municiapity centre by a specially designed electric vehicle.
The visit began in Ljubljana, where participants took a train to Grosuplje railway station. During the journey, partners received detailed documentation on the Grosuplje pilot action, including transport modelling scenarios and planned operational features.
Upon arrival, visitors were welcomed by the Mayor of Grosuplje, who introduced the newly renovated railway station, presented the P+R garage, and explained the integration of local and suburban transport services.
Participants then experienced a ride with the electric DRT/hail service “Zapeljivec”, visiting key public facilities, including shopping centres, health and education institutions, and other frequently accessed locations, particularly by users with reduced mobility.
Afterwards, the group tested the combined regular/DRT OPTI-UP pilot action on line 72, travelling from Grosuplje to Polica and back. Feedback from passengers on the new service was collected:
· Users praised the flexibility of booking via the LPP call centre, even shortly before departure.
· Younger passengers suggested introducing a mobile app to simplify booking.
· Some users requested more flexible schedules and additional journeys.
Overall, the site visit provided valuable insights into operational efficiency, passenger needs, and opportunities for improvement, such as upgrading payment options and clarifying service identity. The pilot line continues to operate successfully, with positive reception from users and no complaints reported so far.
