Time: 10 – 11:15 This interactive event was co-organised by the Covenant of Mayors Europe and Climate Alliance and showcased the innovative approaches taken by four highly diverse municipalities across Europe to address the ever growing challenge of extreme heat. Through their participation in the Ready4Heat project, Maribor (SI), Weiz (AT), Worms (DE) and Hajdúböszörmény (HU) shared their journeys of heat action plans development and measure implementation. We are glad to share the approach of the following speakers:

- Marco Elischer – Municipality of Worms, Germany
- Dominik Puchner – Municipality of Weiz, Austria
- Gordana Kolesaric – Municipality of Maribor, Slovenia
- Maria Teleki – Municipality of Hajdúböszörmény, Hungary
Their case studies highlighted the importance of authentic stakeholder engagement, of identifying both short term and longer term actions, the importance of using data to inform decision-making and the value of peer exchange.
