As part of the Pannon Future Forest project, the Development Centre of Murska Sobota will organise a professional workshop at the MEGRA trade fair on Friday, 27 March 2026. The workshop will explore the opportunities offered by sustainable timber construction and the use of natural materials (wood, straw) as part of a broader forest-based bioeconomy. Two examples of good practice from Slovenia will be presented: modern construction of timber houses using straw insulation, and the sustainable renovation of wooden structures and built heritage.
The aim of the event is to strengthen understanding of how support institutions can act as “catalysts” for the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and new business models in the fields of timber and sustainable construction, as well as how to foster cooperation between the research, public and business sectors.
The Pannon Future Forest project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg Central Europe Programme and focuses on strengthening entrepreneurial competences and developing new business opportunities in the forest-based green economy.
