In Person
Location: Vienna, Austria
Date: 18.08.2025
Our UBH Team Austria was invited to the Swimming Club’s regulars’ table to discuss the quality of surface waters for recreation. After the club members had completed their weekly swim in the canal, the team gathered at the outdoor meeting area to share insights on water quality.

During the meeting, the microbiological and chemical-physical parameters were explained, and the process of cultivating bacteria and bacteriophages was demonstrated.

The atmosphere was excellent, and the club members confirmed that they had gained a lot of technical knowledge. It was clear that the club members were keen to learn more about the science behind water quality, and they appreciated the practical demonstrations. This scientific exchange and the cooperation with UBH will also be particularly valuable for the upcoming event, the ‘Swimming Parade’ on 30 August 2025, which is expected to welcome 250 participants from several countries.

Both the Swimming Club and UBH have expressed their mutual desire to continue maintaining close contact and cooperation, confident that this ongoing partnership will contribute to the continued improvement of recreational water quality for safe and enjoyable recreation.
