On 3 May 2024, our Hungarian partner EMFIE organised the fifth Jane’s Walk in Szeged as part of the global Jane’s Walk initiative.
More than 30 participants, ranging from a 6-month-old baby to a 74-year-old resident, joined the guided community walk through downtown Szeged. The event was easy to recognise thanks to its symbolic yellow balloons, which welcomed participants and highlighted the community spirit of the walk.
Together, participants explored the city’s public spaces, shared stories and experiences, and reflected on how walking, greener streets and people-centred urban design can improve everyday life. The event successfully promoted active mobility, community dialogue and greater awareness of sustainable urban development.
