International Scientific Conference: Sustainability – Conscious Upbringing and Education

Óbuda University, Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering, is pleased to announce the International Scientific Conference titled “Sustainability: Conscious Upbringing and Education”, taking place on May 23, 2025.

The conference will be held under the patronage of Dr. Katalin Szili, Prime Ministerial Chief Advisor and former Speaker of the National Assembly.
Key professional support is provided by the Project Pedagogy Section of the Hungarian Pedagogical Society, and the event is supported by the Rudolf Kalman Foundation for Óbuda University.

The conference focuses on the importance of sustainability education in preparing future generations to become responsible citizens. Through scientific lectures and practical workshops, the event aims to share effective methods, experiences, and practices that support environmental awareness, empathy, and responsible action. The event highlights how sustainability-oriented education fosters both knowledge and skills for making environmentally sound decisions.

Teachers (including preschool, primary, and secondary educators) attending the conference will receive a certificate of participation, valid for 9 hours of professional development, in accordance with Hungarian government decree 277/1997 (XII.22).
Project managers may claim 6.5 PDU points toward their certification.
