Inclusive Communities and Civil Society in Focus – Study Visit in Hungary

The Hungarian edition of the Central Mountains study visit will explore how civil society organizations contribute to inclusive, sustainable mountain development.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit:

  • the Hungarian Roma Association of Szomolya – promoting social inclusion and education,
  • the Eger Community Foundation – empowering local initiatives and grassroots leadership,
  • the Farkaskő Association in Noszvaj – preserving cultural heritage and fostering environmental education.

The visit will also introduce the Carpathian Civil Society Platform, an innovative model supporting civil engagement and transnational cooperation.

Key themes of the agenda will include:

  • building trust between communities and institutions,
  • developing cross-border civil networks,
  • linking pilot actions with long-term regional strategies,
  • exchanging experiences related to the governance of civil society in mountain areas.

🌍 This visit will be an important step in showcasing the human and social dimension of sustainable mountain governance, bridging institutional structures with the everyday experiences of mountain communities.
