Under the theme “Hydrogen – From Politics to Business,” the conference brought together policymakers, researchers and industry representatives from Czechia, the Visegrad countries and central Europe.
The programme addressed:
- hydrogen policy and regulation;
- development of complete hydrogen value chains;
- renewable hydrogen production in central Europe;
- transport, storage and safety;
- hydrogen mobility and fuel prices;
- electrolysers and PEM technologies;
- industrial applications and logistics;
- lessons learned from Czech hydrogen projects.
Scientific presentations, panel discussions, an industry session, business matchmaking and an exhibition connected research results with implementation needs.
Key conclusions
The discussions confirmed that technological solutions were available for many hydrogen applications, but their wider deployment continued to face regulatory and economic barriers.
Participants highlighted the need for:
- clearer and more proportionate European rules;
- stable conditions for investment in hydrogen production;
- coordinated development of production, transport and demand;
- stronger links between research, industry and public policy;
- greater attention to safety, education and public awareness.
The conference also presented Czech support for new electrolyser projects through the GREENGAS programme, including targeted assistance for coal-transition regions.
Practical value
Hydrogen Days 2025 showed that successful projects required more than technical readiness. Viable demand, infrastructure, financing and predictable regulation had to develop together. This was particularly relevant for regional authorities and businesses assessing where hydrogen could provide practical value compared with direct electrification.
