On 6 March 2025, the ICTr-CE project organised an online workshop dedicated to helping tourism businesses better understand and benefit from the growing cycling tourism market along the EuroVelo 13 – Iron Curtain Trail. The event brought together service providers and tourism stakeholders interested in developing cycling-friendly services and enhancing their offer for cycling visitors.

During the workshop, participants gained practical insights into the EuroVelo network and the opportunities cycling tourism creates for local businesses. Experts presented current trends in cycling tourism, highlighted the increasing demand for cycling-related services, and introduced the characteristics and needs of cycling travellers.
The workshop also provided concrete guidance on how businesses can become more cycling-friendly by improving facilities and services such as secure bicycle parking, repair tools, laundry services, catering options, and visitor information. Participants learned about the importance of inclusive and welcoming approaches for all types of cyclists and explored ways to increase their visibility through cycling-friendly service schemes and the use of EuroVelo branding.

By sharing practical examples and encouraging cooperation among stakeholders, the workshop contributed to strengthening the cycling tourism ecosystem along the Iron Curtain Trail. The event supported local businesses in improving their competitiveness, attracting new visitor segments, and creating higher-quality tourism experiences for cyclists travelling through the region.
