Organised within the framework of the Food4CE Project and the GARDEN: Interreg Euro-MED Project, with contributions from the MED COLOURS Project, the webinar addressed one of the most critical challenges faced by Alternative Food Networks today: logistics.
Short Food Supply Chains are essential to building resilient and sustainable food systems across Central Europe. However, fragmented flows, multiple delivery points, weak coordination and outdated vehicle fleets often undermine their environmental and economic potential.
During the webinar, participants explored:
- How AFNs and short food supply chains are defined at EU and local levels.
- The main logistical barriers and their environmental impact.
- Practical solutions tested through the GARDEN Project and the Food4CE Project.
- How these approaches contribute to public policies and sustainable urban logistics.
Within the Food4CE Project, partners worked to strengthen innovation capacity and improve governance in short food supply chains. The webinar provided an opportunity to share tested solutions and exchange experiences with stakeholders across Europe.
