Last week, the #DREAM_PACE consortium came together in Lienz, East Tyrol, Austria—warmly hosted by Regional Management Osttirol—to take stock of our progress in the DREAM_PACE Project and how it can help promote Demand‑Responsive Transport (DRT) across Central Europe
Our six Living Labs are tackling very different mobility challenges:
· Urban integration in Bologna & Pavia (IT) and Budapest (HU), where we’re weaving DRT seamlessly into dense public‑transport networks
· Bottom‑up coordination in Osttirol (AT) and Baden‑Württemberg (DE), uniting local operators and communities around shared service planning
· Greenfield innovation in Split‑Dalmatia County (HR), building a brand‑new, digitally driven DRT scheme from scratch
By developing operational blueprints and integrated governance strategies, DREAM_PACE is creating a replicable model for turning DRT into a core pillar of sustainable mobility in both urban and rural settings. Our exchange in Lienz focused on:
1. Sharing insights on governance and planning to streamline DRT adoption
2. Mapping user needs and stakeholder engagement methods
3. Co‑designing pilot blueprints that leverage data‑driven scheduling and on‑demand routing
As we move into the final year of the project, we’re confident that the learnings from our Living Labs and Pilot areas in our diverse regions will form the backbone of a Europe‑wide strategy for Demand responsive transport. A huge thank you to RMO for hosting us and to all partners for your commitment to making DRT a reality!
