On Tuesday, May 20, at 3 p.m. , we cordially invite you to an exciting insight into the DARKERSKY4CE project as part of the 69th Leipzig Nature Conservation Week (May 19–25, 2025) .
As a municipal project office and partner in the EU cooperation DARKERSKY4CE, Roman Hillebrand, project manager, will address the following questions, among others, in his approximately one-hour presentation:
- Why are dark night skies so important for healthy ecosystems?
- What is the situation in Central Europe and what can we learn from other regions?
- What role does the city of Leipzig play in European exchange and what does this look like in practice?
- What is a “Dark Sky Park” and what does it have to do with sustainable tourism?
Afterwards there will be time for questions and a shared exchange.
The event is aimed at interested people of young age and older with prior knowledge – especially welcome are those committed to light pollution and environmental protection who would like to network.
Meeting place: Aufbauwerk Region Leipzig GmbH, Otto-Schill-Straße 1, 04109 Leipzig (3rd floor, ramp and elevator available)
