Project CONE partners met in Wejherowo
On 9 September, a Project CONE partner meeting combined with a study visit took place in Wejherowo. It was an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss ongoing activities, and explore local examples and sites related to the implementation of nature-based solutions.
➡️ The programme included Ekofabryka Wejherowo Sp. z o.o. and sites connected with CONE pilot activities implemented in Wejherowo, including the courtyard at 8 Śmiechowska Street, where a rain garden has been created, and the site of the former mill pond on the Cedron River, whose restoration is intended to restore its water retention capacity. The site visit allowed the partners to examine local conditions and discuss the practical application of Nature-Based Solutions in urban areas.
🏛️ Wejherowo Town Hall was also an important venue during the visit. The Mayor of Wejherowo, Krzysztof Hildebrandt, introduced the participants to the city, its history and development priorities. A short visit to the Museum of the Wejherowo Region also gave the partners an opportunity to learn more about the local history and context of the city.
🤝 The CONE partner meeting also took place at the Town Hall and focused on the current implementation of the project, progress of ongoing work and further activities. Direct discussions between the partners, combined with the opportunity to see local initiatives first-hand, provided a valuable space for exchanging experiences related to the implementation of nature-based solutions in different urban contexts.
🌱 The meeting in Wejherowo combined project work with a practical look at local CONE activities and the potential of Nature-Based Solutions to help build urban areas that are more resilient to climate change.
