TEC4I FVG organised two co-creation workshops in Udine (Italy) in collaboration with CEC – Far East Film Festival (FEFF), bringing together the FEFF team, a university student, a design thinking expert, a green transition expert, a digital communication specialist and the TEC4I FVG team. The sessions aimed to address the environmental impact of large cultural events, focusing on two key challenges: reducing emissions from international and local mobility, and improving waste management during the festival.Participants were divided into two groups, each focusing on one of the two issues. One group focused on waste management and visitor awareness, while the other focused on mobility and transport solutions. Using design thinking methods, both teams worked on community-driven and gamified approaches to sustainability. The workshops resulted in the development of two app concepts: one to support waste reduction, visitor engagement and sustainability awareness through gamification and educational content, and another to provide a comprehensive tool to manage transport-related sustainability. These solutions aimed to increase festival-goer engagement, reduce environmental impact and promote a more conscious and responsible event culture.
