On 3 December 2024, the ICTr-CE project organised an online workshop focused on helping tourism SMEs identify new business opportunities along the Iron Curtain Trail (EuroVelo 13) and understand how digital technologies and artificial intelligence can support tourism development. The event brought together tourism businesses and stakeholders interested in strengthening their competitiveness and innovation capacity.

The workshop highlighted the growing potential of cycling tourism along the Iron Curtain Trail and provided participants with practical knowledge on how to better position their services within this expanding market. Discussions focused on emerging business opportunities, cooperation between tourism stakeholders, and approaches for creating attractive and sustainable tourism offers.

A key part of the workshop explored the role of artificial intelligence in tourism. Participants learned about digital tools that can support marketing, customer engagement, content creation, and business management. The session demonstrated how AI solutions can help small and medium-sized tourism enterprises improve efficiency, strengthen visitor experiences, and respond to changing market demands.

The workshop contributed to building the knowledge and skills needed for the long-term development of tourism services along the Iron Curtain Trail. By combining insights on cycling tourism and digital innovation, the event supported local businesses in identifying new growth opportunities and preparing for future tourism trends.
