During our recent partner meeting, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit the winners of the first Young Food Waste Fighters Award – the inspiring team from Cavedoni di Levizzano school at Castelvetro di Modena. It was truly a pleasure to witness the strong support of the entire community for their remarkable project.
Our project leader, Gudrun Obersteiner, presented the aims of our initiative, while local leaders and administrators shared valuable insights into the school’s efforts and their impact on the wider community. Their work has clearly brought people together around a shared commitment to reducing food waste.
Most rewarding of all was hearing directly from the students who participated in the “Zero Waste Canteen – Competing for Food Sustainability” project. Their enthusiasm and dedication were genuinely inspiring.
We hope that the positive changes sparked by this initiative will be long-lasting and continue to unite the community in the common goal of fighting food waste.
