Conference dates: 21–22 September 2026
Location: Łódź, Poland
We are pleased to invite you to the international scientific conference “Amazing City – Historic Public Spaces in the Age of Climate Change”, taking place on 21–22 September 2026 in Łódź, Poland.
The conference is organised by the City of Łódź and ICOMOS Poland – partners of the RE-PUBLIC SPACES project – together with THEOPHILOS.
The event will create a platform for interdisciplinary discussion and the exchange of knowledge and experience on contemporary conditions, principles, approaches and limits of shaping historic public spaces, particularly in the context of climate change adaptation.
The conference will bring together representatives of academia, heritage conservation authorities, local governments, the arts and design practice, including landscape and green-space designers, urban planners and architects.
Its aim is to identify good practices in the management and transformation of public spaces in historic cities, explore effective models of cooperation between stakeholders, and discuss how heritage conservation, environmental and social requirements can be successfully balanced.
Join us in Łódź to exchange knowledge, share experiences and discuss the future of historic public spaces in the age of climate change. We look forward to welcoming you!
