AGRI-DIGITAL GROWTH – Press Conference at EIMA 2024

In Person
Location: Bologna, Italy
Date: 06.11.2024

The EU CAP Network Seminar, to be held in Brussels on 7 October 2025, represents a valuable opportunity for all stakeholders involved in the implementation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). This networking event will provide a platform to share practical experiences, discuss common challenges, and identify new opportunities to strengthen delivery and coherence across Member States. As the CAP Strategic Plans are moving towards their final phase planned for 2027, the seminar will serve as a space to evaluate the progress made so far and to collaborate on shaping a new pathway for the policy to remain effective, inclusive, and future-oriented.

After the registration on-site, there will be a panel discussion on the initial results achieved through the CAP Strategic Plans. This will be followed by an interactive session titled “From Practice to Progress: Implementation Challenges and Enablers”, exploring six key thematic areas:

  1. Environmental and climate payments;

  2. Climate change adaptation;

  3. Competitiveness;

  4. Advisory and knowledge tools;

  5. Digitalisation;

  6. Processes and actors involved in the design and implementation of the CAP Strategic Plan;

After networking lunch, a second panel discussion focused on turning insights into actionable strategies, along with a final interactive session aimed at scaling up effective practices across Member States.

Participation in the event is free of charge, but registration is mandatory. Interested participants must complete the registration form available on the EU CAP Network website by 29 August 2025.

Please note that travel and accommodation costs may be covered by the organisers for a limited number of participants, specifically those representing farmers and farmer organisations; LEADER Local Action Groups; European and national non-governmental organisations; researchers and universities. Further details regarding eligibility for reimbursement are available in the registration form.

A press conference will be held on the November the 6th starting at 15.30 CET at the EIMA International trade fair, to present the AGRI DIGITAL GROWTH Interreg Central Europe project. The project coordinators (Patrick Marcuzzo and Luca Masiero) from the CREA Research Centre in Conegliano (Italy), Girolamo Rossi and Giuseppe Saija from FEDERUNACOMA, the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery producers, and other partners from the project, will be available to meet journalists and to illustrate the scope and objectives of the project.

Special emphasis will be given to the presentation of two milestones of the project, that will be met during the EIMA 2024. One is the launch of the precision farming ecosystem for the Central Europe region, to advance the definition of a formal qualification framework for the precision farming specialist. The other one is the launch of the Call for Talents, which will invite young researchers and innovators, from both the public and private sectors, to respond to challenges of the sector, taking into account the specificities of the Central Europe region, which extends from Croatia and northern Italy to Poland.

The press conference will be held at the Notturno Hall.

Participation is open for all journalists accredited at EIMA 2024.
