2CE Contributed to the 13th National Energy Summit in Gdańsk

Location: Gdańsk, Poland
Date: 16.06.2025 - 18.06.2025
By: H2CE

The 13th National Energy Summit OSE Gdańsk 2025 took place at the Museum of the Second World War on 16–17 June 2025.

The summit brought together representatives of politics, business, science and the energy sector under the theme “Energy Security of Europe – Revision of European Energy Policy.”

Main topics

The programme addressed:

  • changes in European climate and energy policy;
  • energy security and new sources of supply;
  • the continued transition from conventional generation to renewable energy;
  • nuclear-energy investment;
  • offshore-energy development;
  • green-hydrogen production;
  • biogas;
  • transformation of the heating sector;
  • critical infrastructure; and
  • the role of gas and hydrogen initiatives in the changing energy system.

H2CE contribution

H2CE was represented through an information stand and participation in the summit’s hydrogen-related discussions.

This provided an opportunity to present the project’s regional approach, including:

  • the role of public authorities in hydrogen planning;
  • GIS and energy-modelling tools;
  • regional strategies and action plans;
  • support mechanisms for hydrogen initiatives; and
  • cooperation between hydrogen-ready regions.

Practical relevance

The summit placed regional hydrogen planning within the wider context of energy security and infrastructure transformation.

For external users, the main lesson was that hydrogen strategies needed to be aligned with broader developments in electricity, gas, renewable energy, industry and critical infrastructure. Hydrogen could not be planned as an isolated energy system.
