On September 18, 2026, FabLab Zagreb participated in the NOVsky Festival of Science and Art, held at Trg dr. Franje Tuđmana and other locations in the centre of Novska, Croatia. This year’s edition brought together a record 43 exhibitors, many from outside Novska, with the support of 71 volunteers. Having attracted more than 4,000 visitors in previous editions, the festival provided a valuable opportunity to promote the DISTT project.
At FabLab’s exhibition space, numerous children and young people were introduced to the project through activities involving 3D printers, exploring biomaterials, and trying out a guitar made from recycled materials. With curiosity and enthusiasm, they explored the materials and technologies on display, discovering possibilities for creative use. DISTT promotional flyers were also available to visitors, increasing the project’s visibility and raising awareness of its goals.
Participation in the festival enabled FabLab to bring digital fabrication and hands-on learning closer to children and young people from Novska and the surrounding rural areas. In line with DISTT’s goals, the activities focused on inclusion, active participation, and building creative confidence, encouraging students to trust their ideas and approach problem-solving with greater independence and initiative.
