On 24 September 2026, the Development Centre Murska Sobota participated in the Pomurje Employment and Career Fair as part of the Pannon Future Forest project. The event was organised by the Employment Service of Slovenia in cooperation with numerous schools, companies and other institutions.
At the project stand, we introduced the Pannon Future Forest project to pupils, secondary school students, university students and other visitors, highlighting the wide range of development and entrepreneurial opportunities offered by the sustainable use of forests. Particular attention was given to emerging areas of the forest-based bioeconomy, including wood-based design, agroforestry, non-wood forest products, forest tourism and other innovative activities.
Visitors received the project brochure, and we also presented the Benchmark Study featuring examples of good practices from Slovenia and across Europe. The study was also available in digital format via a QR code.
Through our participation in the Pomurje Employment and Career Fair, we introduced young people to future-oriented professions and entrepreneurial opportunities related to forests and the sustainable use of natural resources. The event also encouraged them to explore innovative ideas in the field of a forest-based green economy.
