On 17 September, during European Mobility Week, Unione Valle Savio, Lead Partner of NUTSHELL@CE, presented the proposal for its Sustainable Mobility Plan to key local stakeholders. The event marked an important step in transforming the knowledge and co-creation activities developed through the project into a concrete planning tool for the territory.
The meeting brought together key actors involved in local mobility and transport planning, with participants attending both in person and online. Among them were representatives of Start Romagna, the local public transport operator, and AMR, which is involved in mobility planning and management at local level.
From territorial analysis to a shared mobility vision
The proposed Sustainable Mobility Plan is one of the key outcomes of the activities carried out within the NUTSHELL@CE project.
Its preparation combines an analysis of the mobility needs and characteristics of the territory with an extensive stakeholder involvement process. This approach has helped identify priorities, challenges and potential actions towards a more sustainable and integrated mobility system across the municipalities of Unione Valle Savio.
During the meeting, the main elements of the proposed Plan were presented and discussed with stakeholders. Particular attention was given to the challenges and opportunities for improving mobility across the Union, including public transport, mobility services and the integration of different transport solutions.
The discussion offered stakeholders an opportunity to provide their perspectives and contribute to the further development of the proposed measures.
Holding the event during European Mobility Week highlighted the strong connection between the local planning process and the wider European ambition to promote more sustainable, inclusive and accessible mobility.
It also demonstrated an important aspect of the NUTSHELL@CE approach: project activities are not only generating knowledge and facilitating exchanges between Central European regions, but are also helping local authorities translate this knowledge into practical planning instruments and future actions.
The presentation of the Sustainable Mobility Plan proposal therefore represents an important milestone for Unione Valle Savio and NUTSHELL@CE.
Following the territorial analysis, stakeholder consultations and co-creation activities carried out throughout the project, the focus is now increasingly shifting towards turning the shared vision into concrete measures that can support more sustainable, integrated and accessible mobility across the territory.
The dialogue with local stakeholders will continue as Unione Valle Savio moves towards the next stages of the planning and implementation process.
