At Maker Faire Brno, the strojLAB team from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology and FabLab Brno will present the DiSTT project, the SkillNest learning platform, and the full range of digital skills courses developed by the project partners across Central Europe.

Can students make urban energy consumption smarter? At Maker Faire Brno, you can see how! Meet one of the winning projects of the Soutěž s FabLabem competition, organised by our project partner FabLab Brno as part of the Interreg Central Europe project DiSTT!

Students from SŠSE Trnkova have developed a digital adaptive model that simulates energy consumption in an urban environment. It demonstrates the differences between energy-intensive buildings and self-sufficient buildings equipped with solar panels, while also taking natural daylight into account.

The programme will also feature a demonstration workshop by designer and lecturer Jan Vítek, who will introduce visitors to the possibilities of ceramic 3D printing. Using a 3D printer of his own design, he will show how digital technologies, creative design and a traditional material can be brought together.

This is exactly what DiSTT is all about: connecting technical education with hands-on learning, digital fabrication and real-world challenges. By giving young people the opportunity to turn their ideas into working prototypes, we help them develop practical skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Come and get inspired, discover SkillNest and explore the other hands-on learning opportunities created within DiSTT.
