The CE-Spaces4All project has successfully concluded, leaving behind practical tools and strong partnerships that will continue to improve accessible tourism across Central Europe.
Working in three cross-border pilot regions—Slovenia–Croatia–Hungary, Austria–Czech Republic, and Poland—project partners collaborated with tourism providers, public authorities, disability organisations, local communities, and people with disabilities to develop solutions that make tourism more accessible for everyone.
One of the project’s key achievements is the Web Accessibility Viewer (WAV), an online platform that helps tourism providers, destination managers, and public authorities collect, visualise, and improve accessibility information for tourism destinations.
The project also delivered accessible tourism routes, cross-border travel programmes, Accessibility Guides, promotional materials, and practical recommendations that support independent travel. These pilot activities demonstrated how accessibility can be successfully integrated into tourism products and services, particularly in rural and cross-border areas.
Beyond these practical results, the project produced the CE-Spaces4All Joint Strategy and three regional Action Plans, providing a roadmap for improving accessible tourism long after the project’s completion. Partners also signed a Memorandum of Understanding and several Letters of Commitment, confirming their continued cooperation and commitment to promoting inclusive tourism.
The project’s results benefit people with disabilities, older travellers, families with young children, and anyone who values accessible and welcoming destinations. Tourism providers and public authorities also gain practical tools, better planning resources, and stronger international cooperation to develop more inclusive tourism across Central Europe.
