D4PACKtool — the decision support tool that helps SMEs in the dairy, meat, and fruit & vegetable sectors — has won the Gold Laurel Award for Sustainable Packaging, the most important prize at the ReThink Packaging 2026 competition.

The Gold Laurel Award is the highest distinction granted within the competition and recognises outstanding innovations supporting sustainable packaging, the circular economy, and responsible resource management. Among the companies, research organisations, and institutions competing with solutions, technologies, and tools for the entire packaging value chain, the jury identified D4PACKtool as the most deserving project.

The tool was very well received by both the jury and the congress participants, who highlighted its practical approach to supporting SMEs in packaging-related decision-making.

The award was presented in Warsaw during the 2nd Packaging and Recycling Congress — one of Poland’s leading industry events, this year with nearly 200 participants — organised by BMP – Building Opportunities for Agreement, with PRO.R3 as the event’s Strategic Partner. On that occasion, Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology delivered a presentation entitled “Packaging Eco-design – From Theory to Business Decisions Using the D4PACKtool.
