On 10–11 June 2026, partners of the Interreg Central Europe project CICADA4CE met in Ljubljana and Kranj for a two-day project meeting hosted by UIRS and the City of Kranj.
The meeting gathered cities, experts, and members of the CICADA Schools Network to review progress and strengthen cooperation on Ecosystem-based Climate Adaptation (ECbA) solutions.
Day one focused on pilot actions, with cities presenting updates on their urban living lab activities and exchanging early results and lessons learned.
Project governance, communication, platform development, and knowledge transfer activities were also discussed in dedicated sessions.
A study visit in Ljubljana allowed participants to explore climate adaptation approaches through both a boat tour on the Ljubljanica River and a walking tour of the city centre.
Day two took place in Kranj, with discussions on the preparation of the project Handbook and upcoming deliverables.
Participants then visited the local pilot action site, engaging in cross-fertilisation with related projects such as URBIO BAUHAUS and BeReady.
The meeting also included continued exchanges within the CICADA Schools Network, reinforcing the role of education in climate awareness.
The event confirmed the importance of transnational cooperation and peer learning in advancing urban climate resilience across Central Europe.
