Connecting Clients and Companies for Circular Public Procurement: Matchmaking and Solution Presentations – CE-PRINCE Closing Event in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Hybrid
Location: LJUBLJANA DIMIČEVA STREET 13, LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA, Slovenia
Date: 17.06.2026
The final professional event after a series of training sessions on circular public procurement brings together key findings from the training sessions for the public sector (WP2) and businesses (WP3) and builds upon them through direct dialogue between contracting authorities, suppliers, and experts.
The purpose of the event is to strengthen understanding of how circular and sustainable criteria can become an effective tool for developing high-quality, low-carbon, and innovative construction projects. Special emphasis will be placed on practical aspects: how to incorporate circular criteria into tender documentation, how companies can prepare for new requirements, and how to improve cooperation between both parties. The event will also feature a presentation by the law firm Potočnik and Partners on a range of legal options for incorporating sustainability criteria into public procurement (technical specifications, award criteria, performance conditions). The discussion will feature representatives of public procurers, companies, and legal experts, who will address key practical challenges: the gap between legislation and implementation, the preparation of high-quality bids, and risk mitigation when incorporating environmental criteria. The final part of the event will be dedicated to presenting concrete solutions available on the market. Selected companies will present their technologies, products, and services for circular and sustainable construction (e.g., energy-efficient systems, innovative materials, digital solutions) at presentation stations (thematic tables). Participants will have the opportunity to engage in direct discussions with suppliers and explore concrete collaboration opportunities for future projects.
The event addresses current professional challenges in sustainable construction, the circular economy, and green public procurement in the construction sector. It is intended for designers, architects, investors, public procurers, manufacturers of construction products, and construction companies.
The program includes a presentation of current European and Slovenian policies in the field of the circular economy, a presentation of legal options for incorporating sustainable and circular criteria into public procurement, a presentation of the Slovenian Level(s) sustainable construction indicators, financing for circular projects, and a presentation of innovative construction products and solutions.
Special emphasis will be placed on connecting designers, investors, public procurers, and providers of sustainable solutions, as well as on discussing how public procurement can contribute to a higher-quality, low-carbon, and circular built environment.
