Beyond having almost all public institutions renovated and equipped with solar panel systems, the Municipality of Ajka has also developed an effective energy management system in recent years. In addition to learning about the components of the smart metering IT system, the participants discussed the key points of the city’s recent energy developments and their results. The group visited a high school, the municipal elderly care home and the ice rink, among the institutions equipped with solar panels. Since the latter has a 270 kWp small power plant with reverse watt protection and the ice rink is not in operation in the summer, the city is considering how to transfer to or utilize the summer green energy production in other buildings.
