The Municipal District of Prague 5, in collaboration with the Czech Technical University – University Centre for Energy Efficient Buildings (CTU UCEEB), organized two educational workshops (in Czech) on 11 March and 25 March 2026 as part of the international SuPeRBE project, in which they are both actively involved, and which focuses on increasing the resilience of buildings and cities to climate change. Both workshops were held in a hybrid format at the Impact Hub (Prague) and were attended by a total of 87 participants. The target group consisted primarily of public administration staff, technical coordinators, and other professionals.

The workshop programme included an introduction to the SuPeRBE project, Resilient Built Environment methods and tools, and their application in the context of Prague 5 within a digital platform, as well as a presentation of the training system (SuPeRBE courses) and the fundamentals of climate change in relation to the built environment. A key part of the programme was the introduction of the RBTool and RNTool instruments for assessing climate risks atthe level of buildings and neighbourhoods, including their practical demonstration in the Nový Barrandov area.

The workshops also created space for discussion and the sharing of experiences; the first workshop was followed by an afternoon discussion with representatives of municipal districts. Key topics included the availability of data for assessing climate risks outside Prague and the need for more practical case studies. During the second workshop, a practical exercise was conducted using MIRO, allowing participants to test the RBE method in another neighborhood in Prague. They were guided through the use of the tools, as well as in selecting the key hazards, exposed sectors, and risk categories to include in the assessment.

The workshops were led by experts from the Municipal District of Prague 5 and CTU UCEEB: Ing. arch. Lukáš Vacek, Ph.D. and MgA. Lucie Kamler, PhD. (Prague5), and Ing. arch. Barbora Hejtmánková, Ph.D., Ing. Kateřina Klepačová, Ing. arch. Ludmila Fictumová, and Ing. Pavlína Žatecká (CTU UCEEB). Overall, these activities contributed to strengthening the capacities of Czech public administration in the field of climate change adaptation and supported collaboration between practice and research.
