For SMART CIRCUIT, the answer was simple—but ambitious: bring the right people together and make innovation happen in practice.
Over three years, SMART CIRCUIT built a vibrant cross-border ecosystem connecting Digital Innovation Hubs, researchers, industry experts, and policymakers across Central Europe. What started as a collaboration quickly evolved into a living network where ideas were tested, challenged, and turned into real solutions.
Instead of focusing only on strategies, the project focused on action.
Companies didn’t just hear about circular economy—they experimented with it. Through pilot activities and hands-on support, SMEs tested new technologies, improved resource efficiency, and explored new business models. These real-life implementations made the transition tangible, practical, and achievable.
At the same time, SMART CIRCUIT helped people grow. Through training, knowledge exchange, and collaboration, professionals across the region gained the skills needed for the twin transition—combining sustainability with digital innovation.
But perhaps the most important result isn’t a number or a deliverable.
It’s the connections that were built.
Partnerships between regions. Trust between organisations. A shared understanding that circular innovation is not something you do alone—but something you build together.
