The SuPeRBE project has officially launched the CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) “RBE Assessment System” in cooperation with the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). This important milestone will support the formalisation and wider uptake of the project’s results at both national and European levels.
Prior to the launch, CEN conducted a consultation with the relevant Technical Committees to verify that the proposed initiative does not overlap with existing standards or ongoing standardisation processes. The positive outcome of this consultation confirms that the SuPeRBE project addresses a current gap in available risk assessment tools at neighbourhood and building scale.
The CWA builds on the SuPeRBE deliverable D1.2.1 – RBE Assessment System and aims to translate the project’s methodological framework into a recognised European standardisation document. Formalising these results through CEN will significantly enhance their dissemination and facilitate their practical implementation by stakeholders across Europe.
The workshop process corresponds to Work Package 1 activity A1.3 and will involve interested stakeholders in the co-development of the agreement. The activity plan foresees the completion of the drafting and consultation process by September 2026, with the publication of the final CWA expected in October 2026, before the conclusion of the project.
