The REDU-CE-D Pilot Testing Visit about the Waterway Transport will take place on 24th March 2026 at the Freeport of Budapest, Hungary.
This pilot demonstrates the implementation of an ISO 50001-based Environmental Management System within inland port operations. The focus is on the share of energy consumption directly controlled by the port authority, including heating systems, outdoor lighting, and transport-related activities.
During the visit, participants will explore how structured energy monitoring, reporting tools, and management procedures support measurable energy reductions within realistic operational boundaries. The event will highlight how EMS implementation can drive continuous improvement while respecting the complex structure of port ecosystems.
This Pilot Tesing Visit is addressed to port authorities, waterway operators, policymakers, logistics stakeholders, and sustainability experts interested in practical energy management solutions for inland ports.
