On Tuesday, November 11 2025, Ljubljana Fire Brigade (GBL) organized a workshop with collegues from Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO) to share knowledge gained during the LOCALIENCE project with key stakeholders of the Municipality of Ljubljana, including the Deputy Mayor of the City Municipality of Ljubljana and representatives of the district communities.

The main part of the event focused on presenting innovative approaches to improve responsiveness and coordination during adverse weather conditions in the wider Ljubljana area.

Activities carried out within the LOCALIENCE project contribute to greater preparedness and responsiveness through new ways of cooperation between responsible institutions for awareness and communication, civil protection and rescue forces, and rapid information transfer to local communities. Pilot activities from all five countries involved in the project (Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Poland) and their contribution to strengthening resilience to natural disasters in Central Europe were presented.

During the workshop, participants discussed ways to improve cooperation between national institutions and local organizations, particularly among city structures, ARSO, and GBL. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening the role of district communities in managing risks during extreme weather and hydrological events and improving communication with citizens.
