On 13 November 2025, ULL Kranj organized a workshop at Slovenski trg for students of the College of Civil Engineering. The pilot project designer presented four design variants for adapting the site to climate change. An employee of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Kranj also highlighted the importance of preserving the square’s cultural heritage.
After a discussion on the alternative solutions, 38 students evaluated the proposed concepts and voted for the option they considered most suitable for the site and its specific characteristics. The event concluded with a tour of the nearby municipal palace designed by a famous Slovenian architect, where students learned about unique cultural heritage elements, including specially designed windows and a ventilation system that helps the building adapt to temperature fluctuations.
