On 15th October 2025 the Polish partner Łukasiewicz Research Network – Łódź Institute of Technology organized the conference “Future and Challenges of the Packaging Market – Sustainability, Safety and Legal Regulations” attended by 120 people.
The meeting was divided into three thematic sessions. The first session addressed legal regulations and sustainable development, with a focus on new obligations and challenges for packaging producers. The second session explored packaging safety and its impact on consumer health. The third session examined innovations and technological trends in the packaging sector, highlighting their role in supporting industry development and sustainable solutions.
During the third session, several presentations related to the D4PACK project were given, illustrating its ongoing research and practical applications:
- “Factors determining the choice of environmentally friendly packaging by food consumers”, presented by Dr Eng. Agnieszka Kawecka from the Cracow University of Economics.
- “Sustainable packaging in practice – how D4Pack supports the SME sector”, presented by Krzysztof Wójcik from Łukasiewicz – ŁIT, COBRO.
- “Immobilisation of micropollutants from recycled paper processing in composite products”, presented by Dr Eng. Marcin Dubowik from Łukasiewicz – ŁIT, COBRO, highlighted innovative research findings aligned with the principles being tested in the D4Pack pilot actions.
