On Monday, October 13, 2025, professional work began on selected trees in Na Sadech Park near the fountain, which locals call “stolen herons.”

As described by Deputy Mayor Michal Šebek, using a special technology called deep injection, air, water and nutrients are pumped under pressure to the tree roots. Another method used will be the AirSpade, a device that uses compressed air to loosen the soil around trees without damaging their roots.

In places where the soil around the sidewalks is too compacted, the lawn is replaced with a gravel lawn, which is better permeable to water and air. The main purpose of these measures is to improve the living conditions of the trees that have been growing in the park for 145 years.

Thanks to the above-mentioned careful interventions, the trees in the park will be healthier and more resilient. At the same time, it will protect the historical and natural value of the park.
