On September 25th, an online meeting was held via Microsoft Teams as part of the Learning Lab series, focusing on modern solutions in the district heating sector.
The main theme of the webinar was the development of low-temperature district heating (LTDH) networks – an innovative approach supporting the energy transition and improving the efficiency of heating systems.
The session was led by a professor from Cracow University of Technology, who provided a comprehensive overview of current trends, challenges, and opportunities related to the implementation of LTDH technologies in Poland and worldwide.
- Key topics discussed included:
modern technologies enabling the implementation of LTDH networks - methods for modernizing and adapting existing district heating infrastructure to meet LTDH requirements legal and regulatory
- aspects of the heating sector transformation
- available funding sources and strategies supporting low-emission heating systems
The presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences and concerns related to LTDH.
The meeting was attended by representatives of distribution companies from different regions of Poland, as well as representatives of the City Office. This diversity highlights the growing interest in sustainable district heating solutions among both the energy sector and local authorities.
The event served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and initiated dialogue between academia, municipal authorities, and the energy industry.
