On September 10th, 2025, the Italian partner ITL (Institute for Transport and Logistics Foundation) hosted an event within Localog, the Italian Innovation Hub. During the meeting, local food producers, logistics operators, and research organizations were introduced to two key tools of the Food4CE project:

·       The Knowledge Transfer Platform: an interactive space mapping Alternative Food Networks in Central Europe and consolidating knowledge on business models, short food supply chain (SFSC) logistics solutions, and best practices.

·       The Matchmaking Platform: a web-based tool for AFNs that connects producers, logistics providers and other stakeholders to foster new synergies, enabling the creation of new partnerships and enhancing logistics services within AFNs.

The event also featured BIS Appennino, a public initiative dedicated to revitalizing the Apennine area around Bologna, strategically positioned to link these territories and their AFNs with the work carried out within Localog.

The session provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the collaborative progress achieved over the past months and to announce the upcoming release of policy recommendations intended to guide regional policymaking related to Alternative Food Networks (AFNs).

Stay tuned for more updates.
