One of the actions specified by the ParkPad audit, and included in the Action Plan of Parking Policy for 2024–2026 “Digital map of sustainable mobility: capacity and use of cycling,” recommends the digitization of bike parking infrastructure in the city of Žilina, both public and private, as a missing map layer of the city’s cycling digital agenda. Based on this, the city of Žilina involved the civic association MULICA, which is dedicated to promoting ecological modes of transport and improving public space in the city, and with which it actively cooperates. A study was prepared that analyzes the current state of bicycle parking in the city of Žilina, including a spatial analysis of parking conditions, identification of problems, an overview of individual bicycle parking options, and examples of good practice. It also presents proposals for areas of improvement and new locations for bicycle racks, contributing to the overall optimization of bicycle parking in Žilina. The study includes an action plan, based on which the municipality has already begun the initial implementation of several bicycle stands. A digital map of bike parking (GIS) was also created. This tool is now used as part of bike parking maintenance to simplify and accelerate the process. Users can mark locations in the city where bike parking requires repair and report the status of parking lots online and in real time. Citizens can also indicate whether capacity is sufficient, or suggest where new parking facilities should be added in locations lacking adequate infrastructure. These inputs enable the municipality and project partners to manage and optimize the bike parking infrastructure, ensuring better availability and network coverage. The municipal mobility manager and bicycle delegate evaluate the relevance of these reports
