Infypower as the first hardware provider in V4Grid project

After months of research, attending international V2G events, and discussions with experts across Europe, we decided to choose Infypower for the first testing pilots. A key moment was our visit to the E.ON Testing Lab in Essen, where we had the chance to test Infypower’s bidirectional charger ourselves and see its potential in action.

Infypower’s technology is based on DC (direct current) inverters, where the change in energy flow is handled directly by the hardware. In contrast, with AC (alternating current) systems, it is the car that needs to manage the switching of energy flow. Today, DC solutions are seen as more practical because the hardware takes care of the process, making it easier to use cars for V2G regardless of grid regulations or location-specific codes.

We find Infypower as one of the current leaders in V2G hardware development, and some tests already confirmed the reliability and performance of their products. At the same time, V4Grid will continue exploring alternative solutions to ensure we identify the best options for Europe and do not rely solely on one provider.
