Participating in the Aachen V2G conference was a fantastic opportunity for the whole V4Grid consortium to gain knowledge about EVs becoming a part of the energy system. The combined experience of experts from science and industry created the perfect setting to gain a complete picture of V2G technology.
What did we discover? V2G shows real potential for EV owners: by charging during low-demand periods and discharging during peak hours, EVs could cover their energy costs or even generate income. Studies also confirm that, with proper management, V2G operations have minimal impact on battery life. At the same time, integrating EVs through V2G helps balance fluctuations in electricity demand and stabilize the grid.
This event proved that the technology is ready and can deliver a strong impact. Projects in the Netherlands, Denmark, France, and the UK are already demonstrating its value. For V4Grid, participation not only laid important groundwork for the project but also contributed to pushing the technology itself forward
